Things To Do

Paris Plage

For a whole month, from mid July to mid August, another opportunity for Parisians and tourists to mingle along the banks of the Seine river, whether it be comfortably ensconced “at the water’s edge” in colorful deck chairs, enjoying a concert, trying out a sports activity or sipping the latest chic cocktail in the various beach bars where it’s cool to see and be seen. This summer, Paris-Plage creates an atmosphere of Tahitian delights and soft sand!

The French capital gives the river banks a new look: sand, deckchairs, palm trees, activities … This year Paris Plage stretches to the quai de la gare for the inauguration of the new swimming pool on the Seine and the Simone de Beauvoir footbridge. New for its fifth edition: a second beach awaits you. The first beach, on the Right bank, runs between the Louvre and the pont de Sully. The second is installed port de la Gare, beneath the Simone de Beauvoir footbridge, between the pont de Tolbiac and the brand new Seine-Est floating pool. A beach more than 700 metres long. On the menu: palm trees, deck chairs, parasols, sand, solarium, library… Right bank of Paris Plage, between Tuileries and Sully, sport is king. A number of activities: rowing on the Seine, aqua gym in the pool, dance, French boules… Multicoloured strings of lights light up the nights along the Seine. With the Fnac Indétendances festival, concerts on Friday and Saturday evenings from 7.30pm, on the banks of the Seine between Sully and Marie bridges. Featuring: Zita Swoon, Da Silva, Marie Cherrier, Joseph d’Anvers, Hushpuppies
